For the many that are already in later "stages", i welcome any and all suggestions, and or successes as i mentioned before i have had no luck so far in improving my condition. My opinion is if you ONLY have the prostate infection do yourself a favor and take GOOD care of yourself and use a treatment, and further complications should not arise. My case is a bad case though, im not meaning to alarm anyone. Not to mention decrease in sexual performance and arousement, etc. In my case my prostatitis lead to other complications, i now have cysts in my testicals, water or "hydroceles" and epididymitis, all stemming from the prostate infection. And high doses and long treatments of anti-biotics are dangerous in themselves. If you would like you can seek out the MANY treatments for prostate "issues", ive yet to try them all there are alot of them and it will take years for an actual "trial" of them all. Ive been told its one of those things we just have to live with. Unfortunately its very hard to cure, and the bacteria has the tendency to immune itself to treatments. I, as well as thousands have the same issues and symptoms. I wonder if anyone has analysed semen of a patient to see if there are any thraces of urine in it? Hope this helps! I've kind of lost interest since my symptoms, at least the pain, went away but I kind of reignited when I saw this page. He or she should send you to a specialist based on your anamnesis(your story) even if he finds nothing else. Prostatitis is difficult for a GP to diagnose. Finally, for anyone with the symptoms described above - dont be satisfied with seeing a GP, you need to see a specialist in urology. I would not touch steroids without at least a phd in endocrinology. Steroids will not make your penis smaller but it will decrease the amount of testosterone produced by the testicles(as steroids are testosterone analogues) eventually this can lead to loss of function, in popular terms shriveled testicles and impotence. If you ever have pain in your testicles you need to be screened for testicular cancer people!! Very important! Go to your doctor at once. There is no link between prostatitis and testicular cancer as far as I know. The symptoms of prostatatis are deemed to be benign(not dangerous) but quite distressing. Now this is only one theory! Prostatitis is likely to be many different diseases or problems, but the symptoms described here seem likely to correlate with the theory I outlined above. Possibly, urine contamination could somehow change part of this sticky mass into gelatine clumps. The main suspect is the seminal vesicles which produce the sticky mixture of proteins, enzymes, fructose, mucus, vitamin C, flavins, phosphorylcholine and prostaglandins that is more than half the volume of semen. Now, how does this relate to the gelatine clumps? Well quite a lot of glands are involved: Testiclular glands, seminal vesicles, prostate gland bulbourethral and urethral glands. That could account for a yellowish semen. That is, small amounts of urine leaks into the prostate and cause irritation. Now, I spoke to a specialist and he said he believed prostatitis is an effect of urine reflux between the prostate and the urine bladder. Then again many drugs have effects that we are not yet aware of. Problem here is that nobody knows why prostatitis occurs or what it is.great right? We dont know why some antibiotics seem to work - the problem does not seem to be related to bacteria so it should not work in theory. Anyway, the problems returned a while after stopping ciprofloxacin and I was not too keen to go back on as cipro seemed to cause weakness and fainting(went down in the gym, great.). So I tried high dose ciprofloxacin, it seemed to work but it is difficult to know since it could have gone by itself as it does every now and then. The problems come and go, sometimes I'm good for several weeks then it comes back etc. These two symptoms always come together and are sometimes accompanied with testicular pain and or pain in the groind area. Hi, been having these same problems with gelatine looking lumps in the semen and yellowish looking sperm.

If you have normal healthy sleep, you can actually do yourself a disservice by exposing yourself to blue light at inappropriate times. Wait… Isn’t blue spectrum light bad for sleeping? While white light has long been used to help treat mood disorders, blue light has emerged as a two-for-one application, for treating both circadian rhythm disorders and mood disorders which sometimes go hand in hand. It’s also responsible for our national problem with sleep debt and sleep deprivation. Research suggests that circadian rhythm misalignments are a growing problem.ĭieter Kunz, director of the Sleep Research and Clinical Chronobiology Research Group at Charit Universittsmedizin Berlin, said that a growing body of evidence suggests that a desynchronization of circadian rhythms may play a role in various tumoral diseases, diabetes, obesity, and depression. While most visible wavelengths on the light spectrum can reset the body clock, the most efficient way to alter circadian rhythms is by using blue light. These system shifts lead to problems with getting enough sleep. In this blog, we’ve previously discussed circadian rhythms and how they rely on light cues to help us regulate our sleep-wake cycles.įor those who suffer from circadian rhythm disorders, the use of light therapy especially with blue spectrum light has become a non-pharmacological way to help people “reset” rhythms that have shifted from normal schedules. What is blue spectrum light and why does it matter to sleep? New technology and research on circadian rhythm dysfunction has opened up opportunities to apply therapy using blue spectrum light to help reset the body clock. In the autumn, the majestic bull elk are not always thinking clearly and can be quite dangerous. They can trample you before you even have time to respond. In the spring, the female elk can be very aggressive as they may have young ones hidden nearby. They are not tame and should not be approached. Since elk usually travel together, often in large herds, they are one of the easier animals to spot in the national park.Įach year we have a number of people injured by elk. They make their way up to the cool tundra and can often be spotted alongside Trail Ridge Road. As the temperatures climb in the summer, so do the elk. Common places to find them are: Moraine Park, Beaver Meadow, Horseshoe Park, the Kawuneeche Valley, and the Estes Park golf course. In the winter, spring, and autumn, the elk are usually found in the lower meadows of Rocky Mountain National Park, often spilling into Estes Park and the surrounding area. It can be quite a show and draws visitors from far and wide to see them during this active period. As well as bugling to ward off opponents, a bull will occasionally spar with others to maintain control of his harem. During the rut, a bull will join a herd of female elk and try to keep them as his own. Today, the park has fenced off large areas of these meadows to protect them from the elk and allow them to regrow.Įvery year between mid-September and mid-October the elk enter their mating season known as “ the rut.” The name rut actually comes from the Latin word rutigum, translated “bellowing.” Anyone who has been to Rocky within these months knows that this is an appropriate name, as bull elk fill the air with the sound of their mysterious bugling and grunting. Because of the large number of elk that have inhabited the park in recent years, some areas of the park such as the lower meadows have been overgrazed, resulting in a loss of willows, aspens, and other plant life. Their diet consists of grasses, leaves, and bark. Early British explorers on sighting these imposing creatures assumed that they must be moose like those in Nordic countries and called them “elk.” Although today we know the difference between these two creatures, the name stuck.Įlk are members of the deer family, with males often weighing up to 1,000 pounds (454 kg). The word originated in Scandinavia and was used for what we today call moose. The guard is modeled after the traditional form of most messer blades, featuring straight quillons with a single, clamshell side-guard that protects the wielders hand. Its single edge and curved design make it a brutally efficient cutter, while the sharpened false edge on the clipped point adds a second dimension to its cutting and stabbing abilities. The blade is forged entirely from dual hardened 5160 high carbon steel. This hardy weapon is more like a greatly oversized knife than a sword, its wickedly curved blade reminiscent of more modern bowie designs. To prevent cracking, it is not a bad idea to wet the slats before hand - in this case it was not done because Lukas received the slats pre-glued with the goat fur, but if he had not, it would have been better to wet the slats so that they bend easier. 1200 by Dimicator A Scabbard from Bamberg Diocesan Museum & Reconstructions thereof. Regardless, the two requirements of a 12-volt car battery can actually work at cross purposes. Manufacturers rate their own batteries, and Consumer Reports lab tests have concluded that in real world conditions, batteries sometimes don't match the manufacturer's claim. That's measured in amp hours, or Ah, of total energy storage, and sometimes in minutes - how long a battery will provide power at a certain draw-down rate. Reserve capacity accounts for a smaller, slower electrical drain to feed things like lights or the radio when the vehicle is off and the battery isn't charging. It's measured as cold cranking amps, or CCA, or the amount of near-instant amperes a battery can deliver at 0 degrees Fahrenheit. Cranking power is essentially the large jolt of electricity needed to start the engine. It's simple, and it's the only way to be sure."Ī car battery needs two things: cranking power and reserve capacity. A lot of retailers will do it free onsite. If your battery is 3 years old or older, get it tested annually. "Modern batteries tend to continue cranking instantly until they won't crank. "It used to be easier to tell when a battery was going bad," says Rebecca Conway, senior director of marketing at Clarios (formerly Johnson Controls power), the world's largest 12-volt battery manufacturer. A few recently manufactured batteries can still behave that way, but most modern batteries will continue cranking normally - until they won't crank anymore. Ten or 20 years ago, a battery's decline would progressively show itself in one obvious way: increasingly slow and labored cranking or engine starting, particularly during a chill. Yet the conditions noted above are relatively uncommon, and their absence doesn't necessarily mean a battery is healthy. An obvious crack, bulge or warpage in the battery case is a pretty good sign you should be looking for a new one. Some cars will flash the "check engine light" if the battery is weak, though in most cases you won't know what that light exactly means without access to an OBD II scanner. Excessive corrosion around the post and battery cable connectors probably means it's leaking acid. There may be signs a car battery is on its last leg. One-year full replacement warranty, but with proper care and feeding, it should keep you rolling for years. Venerable capped lead-acid tech delivers excellent cranking power. It always leaves enough juice for a steady burst of cranking amps. If you forget the interior light when you get to the airport, the chip will essentially shut down the battery before it's completely drained. Slickest of all, the Re-Start should never go dead, and you should never, ever need a jump. It's warranted for five years, with the first three full replacement and the last two prorated. It all helps to extend battery life, and Antigravity says the Re-Start should last seven to nine years, depending on climate. BMS prevents overcharging and overdischarging, and its thermal management system balances cell use to optimize operating temperature. The tricks, after the lithium chemistry, start with a chip-controlled Battery Management System.
